Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a risk of explosion for a hyperbaric chamber?
Generally speaking, the hyperbaric oxygen chambers available on the market are relatively safe and do not explode. The only exception is if you purchase one that is very cheap and of unguaranteed quality. Therefore, you should purchase a hyperbaric oxygen chamber from an experienced and certified seller to ensure its quality.
What are the precautions to use a hyperbaric oxygen chamber?
Precautions for hyperbaric oxygen therapy:
1. No flammable or explosive items can be brought into the chamber.
2. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy should be suspended if patients have fever, cold, abdominal pain or women’s menstruation.
3. In the course of treatment, some patients will have the symptoms of double ear distension and tinnitus, they should do swallowing action and speech to balance the pressure inside and outside of the tympanic membrane, and they can also pinch the nose and drum on their own, so that the Eustachian tube can ventilate on its own.
4. During the decompression at the end of treatment you will feel there is gas running out from the ear. This is a normal phenomenon. Do not hold your breath, just relax and do normal breathing.
5. In order to keep the chamber clean, spiting and littering are forbidden.
What should I do for the maintenance of your hyperbaric oxygen chambers?
Our hyperbaric oxygen chamber doesn’t need special maintenance. Just don’t use it over time, keep it clean at ordinary times and wash the filters in about a year. If there is something failed during the warranty period, we will guide you to find out the problem and send you the new parts for replacement.
Can I use a hyperbaric oxygen chamber when I have a cold or a fever?
This is not recommended. Colds can cause nasal congestion and blockage of the Eustachian tubes, making it difficult to equalize pressure during descent and significantly increasing the risk of barotrauma (ear pain, perforated eardrum). A fever (>38.5°C) is a relative contraindication, as it may increase the burden on the heart and trigger seizures. If urgent treatment is required (such as for carbon monoxide poisoning), the doctor will first address the nasal congestion. To be on the safe side, treatment should be resumed only after symptoms have subsided and body temperature has returned to normal.
Does your hyperbaric chamber require two persons to operate?
