What is the difference between soft shell hyperbaric chamber and hard shell hyperbaric chamber?
The primary difference between hard shell hyperbaric chambers and soft hyperbaric chambers lies in their construction and operating pressure.
Hard shell chambers are made of rigid materials such as metal or acrylic which can withstand higher pressures. They can be made at high treatment pressure such as 2.0 ATA, 3.0 ATA or even higher. Hard shell chambers are often used in clinics or hospitals.
Soft shell hyperbaric chambers, on the other hand, are made of flexible materials like nylon or PVC. They operate at lower pressures (for example 1.3 ATA or 1.5 ATA) compared to hard shell chambers and are typically used for mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT) applications. Soft chambers are portable, more affordable, and easier to set up, making them popular for home use and wellness centers. However, they cannot achieve the same pressure levels as hard shell chambers.
Some hard shell hyperbaric chambers have larger internal space and can be equipped with air conditioning, chairs and other facilities. They offer more comfortable experience than soft hyperbaric chambers. But the price of hard chambers is much higher than soft chambers.
Can I wear a tampon in a hyperbaric chamber?
You may wear them, but we recommend using panty liners or long-length overnight pads.
Standard sanitary pads may shift or leak during pressure changes; using high-absorbency underwear is a safer option. Change to a fresh sanitary pad before entering the treatment room and avoid wearing it for extended periods during the session (treatment typically lasts 60–90 minutes). If you have a heavy flow, you may use a tampon for added protection. Be sure to inform your doctor; if you experience menstrual cramps or fatigue, treatment may be postponed.
Should I clear customs and pay the tariffs for the importation by myself?
Normally our shipping way has included the customs clearance and tariffs. You don’t have to do those by yourself anymore. But for remote or special address, you might have to clear customs by yourself. Please send us your address for comfirmation.
Does hyperbaric oxygen help hair growth?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may help promote hair growth, but the evidence remains limited.
Its mechanisms of action include improving blood circulation in hair follicles, reducing scalp inflammation, and reactivating dormant hair follicles. A small study found that after 50 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, participants showed signs of improvement in metrics such as hair follicle density and hair count. However, due to the small sample size and the lack of a control group, the conclusions are still preliminary.
It is important to note that hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not a first-line treatment for hair loss and should only be used as an adjunctive therapy.
